English astrologer and writer, John Gadbury was a prominent figure in 17th-century astrological practice and a notable rival of William Lilly. He published Genethlialogia, or the Doctrine of Nativities (1658), regarded as one of the most important astrological works of the century, covering nativities, directions, annual revolutions, and horary questions.
