William Ramesey

1627 – 1676

English physician and astrologer, William Ramesey studied medicine at Montpellier and served as physician to King Charles II. He was a devoted advocate of astrology as a legitimate Liberal Science, writing on astronomy, medicine, poisons, eclipses, and natural philosophy. His most important astrological work, Astrologia Restaurata (1653), presented a systematic defence and exposition of all branches of judicial astrology, including horary, electional, and mundane astrology, in English.
