The Secret Symbols of the Rosicrucians (Geheime Figuren der Rosenkreuzer)

Anonymous (Attributed to multiple authors)1785
AdvancedPrimary Sourcecomplete

One of the most important and beautiful artifacts of the 18th-century Rosicrucian revival. Originally published in Altona in 1785, this work consists of several mystical treatises and a series of complex alchemical and Kabbalistic diagrams that summarize the 'secret' teachings of the fraternity. Franz Hartmann's 1888 English version brought these high-grade Rosicrucian symbols to the modern public, detailing the path to spiritual illumination through the 'Chemical Marriage' and the understanding of the Microcosm and Macrocosm.
