Discordian chaos religion founder
1938 – 1998
Kerry Wendell Thornley (1938–1998), known as Lord Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst, co-founded Discordianism with Greg Hill in the late 1950s and co-authored the religion's foundational text Principia Discordia, which worships Eris, goddess of chaos. The movement profoundly influenced anarchist and countercultural spirituality; Thornley also served in the Marines alongside Lee Harvey Oswald, later becoming a subject of the JFK assassination inquiry.
