Charles Johnston was an Irish writer, Theosophist, and Sanskrit scholar who co-founded the Dublin Hermetic Society alongside W.B. Yeats and married Madame Blavatsky's niece. He produced influential English translations of the Upanishads, the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and the Bhagavad Gita, helping introduce Vedantic philosophy to Western Theosophical circles.
