Hermetic occultism, esoteric astrology
1855 – 1894
Thomas H. Burgoyne (born Thomas Henry Dalton, 1855–1894) was a Scottish-born occultist and co-founder of the Hermetic Brotherhood of Luxor, one of the most influential esoteric orders of the nineteenth century. His major work The Light of Egypt (1889) synthesized astrology, soul cosmology, and Hermetic philosophy into a systematic occult treatise that remained widely read in esoteric circles long after his early death in California.
