Swami Paramananda

1884 – 1940

Swami Paramananda (born Suresh Chandra Guhathakurta) was a Bengali monk of the Ramakrishna Order and the youngest disciple of Swami Vivekananda. Sent to the United States in 1906, he founded the Vedanta Centre of Boston (1909) and established the first Vedanta periodical in America, the Message of the East, teaching Advaita Vedanta and universal religious harmony for over three decades.
