Pekka Ervast

1875 – 1934

Pekka Elias Ervast (1875–1934) was Finland's foremost Theosophical writer and organizer, who founded the Finnish Theosophical Society in 1907 and then established the Ruusu-Risti (Rosy Cross) in 1920, synthesizing Theosophy with an Esoteric Christianity centered on the Sermon on the Mount. He authored over 140 published volumes and delivered more than 1,300 lectures, making him the central figure in the development of Finnish esoteric spirituality.
