Kenneth Sylvan Guthrie was a Scots-born Episcopalian clergyman, physician, and philosopher who dedicated himself to making the ancient Neoplatonic tradition accessible in English, most notably through his 1918 translation of the complete works of Plotinus. He also translated Porphyry and other Neoplatonists, producing compilations such as The Pythagorean Sourcebook and Library.
