Henrietta Szold was an American Jewish scholar, editor, and Zionist leader who served at the Jewish Publication Society, where she translated and edited Louis Ginzberg's monumental Legends of the Jews from German into English. In 1912 she founded Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, which became one of the largest Jewish organisations in the world.
