Dream symbolism and interpretation

Gustavus Hindman Miller

1857 – 1929

Gustavus Hindman Miller was an American merchant and author based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, best known for his exhaustive dream reference 10,000 Dreams Interpreted (1901), which catalogued thousands of dream images drawn from folklore, classical tradition, and popular symbolism. His work became one of the most widely used popular dream dictionaries in the English-speaking world, bridging folk belief, symbolic tradition, and the growing popular interest in the unconscious mind stirred by Freudian psychology. It remains in print as a standard reference for popular dream symbolism.
